Our leaders are important and integral to our medical communication community. We accomplish a great deal together, constantly working to engage new members and offer more networking opportunities, in order to learn from each other.
President: Shara Pantry
Shara is currently a postdoctoral research associate residing in Miami. She has experience editing, proofreading and writing scientific content in various capacities. Shara joined AMWA in 2016 and has regularly attended the “First Thursday” networking events. As President, Shara will work with her leadership team to ensure the continued success of the chapter by spreading the word about AMWA and increasing networking events throughout the state.
Immediate Past President: Irvin Peralta, MBA
Irvin is a specialty sales professional, trainer, freelance medical writer, and consultant living in south FL. He has worked on several writing and training projects for biotechnology companies and currently works in sales and marketing for a large pharmaceutical corporation. He joined AMWA in 2012 and was an active member of the NYC chapter before relocating to FL. As Immediate Past President, Irvin will work with Shara and her team to make the Florida Chapter a success by increasing its memberships, presence on social media, and networking activities.
SECRETARY: jingle thomas
Jingle is a medical communication professional with over 10 plus years in the industry. She has been an AMWA member for 8 years and has assisted with various initiatives at both local and national levels. Currently she is a Medical Writer at a medical device company in Florida. She is detail-oriented and committed to excel in any work capacity through dedication to quality and setting effective goals. She is looking forward to help grow the Florida chapter.
TREASURER: PAUL FLETCHER
Paul Fletcher has a History Ph.D. from Heidelberg University, Germany, where he worked for several years as an ESL editorial assistant, a writing tutor for Ph.D. candidates across the disciplines, and an Academic English writing teacher. He now works at Moffitt Cancer Center (Tampa, Florida) as a research scientific editor.
President Elect: REGINALD WILSON
Reggie is a medical scientist, wellness coach, personal trainer, and public health education specialist who wants people to lead their best lives. Through policy education, writing, coaching freelancers, and nutrition education, he shows how science communication changes the world.
